Ethics of Leadership

Eph 6:9  And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him. 

        1.     4 Ways a Master Can Honor the Name of Jesus?

a.      He should follow the same commands given to the servant

                                               i.     Masters are to obey Jesus above all

1.     All Christians are to be slaves of God

a.      Ephesians 5:21; Romans 6:22; Philemon 1:16 

                                             ii.     Masters should work hard even when no one is watching

                                            iii.     Masters should not be a manpleaser

                                            iv.     Masters should work as if he is working for Jesus Himself

                                              v.     Masters should work out the will of God with passion

                                            vi.     Masters should be thorough in completing his tasks remembering that God is always watching

                                           vii.     Masters should remember that God always rewards a faithful servant

1.     Matthew 25:21 

b.     He should not threaten his servants

                                               i.     Masters should not put down their servants - James 2:8-9 

                                             ii.     Masters should not bully their servants with profanities or abusive language

1.     Acts 9:1 

                                            iii.     Masters should be just and equitable to their servants - Luke 12:42-48 

c.      He must remember that he will answer for his leadership to his own Master in Heaven

                                               i.     Masters will someday give an account for their actions here on this earth

1.     2 Corinthians 5:9-10 

                                             ii.     Masters will someday occupy the same heaven as their servants, in perfect equality

1.     Philippians 3:20 

d.     He must remember that God is not a respecter of persons

                                               i.     God does not care about your temporary superiority over others

1.     Romans 2:11 

                                             ii.     God does not care about your economic superiority - Matthew 19:24 

                                            iii.     God does not care about your physical superiority - 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 

                                            iv.     God does not care about your social superiority - Colossians 4:1 

                                              v.     God does not care about your racial superiority - Colossians 3:11 

                                            vi.     God does not care about your sexual superiority - Galatians 3:28
