Ye

Act 1:4 And, being
assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from
Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have
heard of me.

does Christ Expect from His Church?

Together
a. This
is the last thing that instinct would have told them to do. Don’t forget where
Jesus had to find them after His resurrection. They were afraid for their
lives. It was only a few days earlier that Peter couldn’t even admit to a slave
girl that he knew Jesus.

3. Obey
His Commandments
a. The
last thing they wanted to do was gather and the worst place to gather would be
in Jerusalem. After all it was there that they had just witnessed the
Crucifixion of Christ.

fiber of their being would have been telling them to run and hide, but Christ
wanted them to wait for the miracle He was preparing to do.
