The Renewing of Your Mind

 

Eph 4:23  And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 

 

        1.     You Cannot Renew Your Mind

a.     Man is ignorant

                                               i.     1 Corinthians 2:7-8 

b.     Man insufferable

                                               i.     1 Corinthians 2:14 

c.     Man is insubordinate

                                               i.     Romans 8:6-7 

d.     Man is incorrigible

                                               i.     Ezekiel 36:26 

e.     Man is impotent

                                               i.     Titus 3:5 

        2.     Only the Holy Spirit Can Renew Your Mind

a.     Romans 8:11 

b.     2 Corinthians 4:14 

        3.     You Can Hinder the Renewing of Your Mind

a.     You can grieve the Holy Spirit

                                               i.     1 Thessalonians 5:19-24 

b.     You can quench the Holy Spirit

                                               i.     Ephesians 4:30-31 

        4.     You Must, by the Work of the Holy Spirit, Put on the Mind of Jesus

a.     Yield your will to the work of God in your life

                                               i.     Romans 6:19 

b.     Renew your mind

                                               i.     Romans 12:1-2 

c.     Set your affections on things above

                                               i.     Colossians 3:1-3 

d.     Learn to take on the mind of Jesus

                                               i.     Philippians 2:5 

e.     Learn the compassion of Jesus

                                               i.     Colossians 3:12-13
