Maketh Not Ashamed!
Rom
5:3 And not only so, but we
glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

5:4 And patience, experience; and experience,
hope:

5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the
love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto
us.
1. Those
that are in Christ Can Glory in the Trials They Experience – vs. 3-4*
a. Because
of our justification and benefits that we enjoy in Christ we have hope for the
future. We need not live in fear of sorrow or pain.

b. Because
of Christ you can glory in trials.
i.
Trials produce endurance – We need not
fear what man can do to us because God works through every difficulty to
produce in us a spiritual strength that lasts.

Endurance produces character – character
is the mark of a true man of God. This cannot be produced without trials, that
build strength.

Character produces confidence (hope) – as
we endure the trials, that God has before ordained for us, we see the
deliverance that He provides, and this builds a confidence in the coming hope
of glory in eternity.

is No Shame in Placing Your Trust in Christ – vs. 5*
a. God
pours His love into our hearts through the work of the Holy Spirit – this is
the definition of sanctification or the process by which we become like Christ.

We can be confident in our hope in Christ
because nothing is an accident; it is all working together for the purpose that
God has planned for our life. He never lets go of His own!
