You are Christ’s Magnum Opus

 

Eph 2:7  That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. 

          1.      That in the Ages to Come

a.       God’s eternal plan for the Church is to demonstrate this power and glory

                                                              i.      Revelation 7:10-17 

          2.      He Might Show

a.       The eternal purpose of our salvation is a vindication of God’s wonderful grace and mercy in spite of the accusations of the devil

                                                              i.      1 John 3:8-10 

          3.      The Exceeding Riches

a.       God will never run out of His mercy and forgiveness

                                                              i.      Philippians 4:19 

          4.      Of His Grace

a.       Like Paul we should be remember that God forgiving our sin is so incredibly amazing that they will be talking about it for generations to come

                                                              i.      1 Timothy 1:16  

          5.      In His Kindness

a.       Like David we should be overwhelmed by the gracious kindness of God

                                                              i.      1 Chronicles 17:16-20 

          6.      Toward Us

a.       Who are the us?

                                                              i.      Those that are affirmed in Christ

1.      Ephesians 1:6 

                                                            ii.      Those that have placed their faith in Christ

1.      Ephesians 1:12 

                                                          iii.      Those that are confident of their eternal reward in Christ

1.      Ephesians 1:14 

b.      Why is it us?

                                                              i.      To reveal to all the spiritual realm the incredible mercy of God

1.      Ephesians 3:9-12 

          7.      Through Christ Jesus

a.       Jesus is truly the only way to the Father

                                                              i.      John 14:6

Your Home is in the Heavenly Places

 

Eph 2:6  And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: 

          1.      You Have Been Resurrected in Christ

a.       The resurrection of Christ is very important for the believer. They must remember the following:

                                                              i.      They must remember that they partake of resurrection of Christ through baptism

1.      Romans 6:3-4 

                                                            ii.      They must remember that their old nature was crucified with Christ

1.      Romans 6:6-8 

                                                          iii.      They must remember that the resurrection of Christ forever sealed their victory over sin and death

1.      Romans 6:9-10 

b.      This means that the believer now enjoys the following blessings:

                                                              i.      Peace with God

1.      Romans 5:1 

                                                            ii.      No more condemnation

1.      Romans 8:1 

          2.      You Now Have a Seat of Honor at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb

a.       This world is doomed and under the judgement of God

                                                              i.      Galatians 1:4 

b.      This world is not our home

                                                              i.      Hebrews 11:13-16 

c.       We can enter into the presence of God by the blood of the Lamb

                                                              i.      Hebrews 10:19-22 

d.      Our thoughts should always turn heavenward

                                                              i.      Colossians 3:1-4 

e.       We now have unrestricted access to the throne room of God in heaven

                                                              i.      Hebrews 4:14-16

By Grace You Were Saved

 

Eph 2:5  Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 

         1.      One You Were Dead

a.       Apart from Christ, we are all men most miserable

                                                              i.      1 Corinthians 15:18-22 

b.      Apart from Christ, life is completely futile

                                                              i.      Psalm 103:12-17 

c.       Apart from Christ, we were under the condemnation of the law

                                                              i.      1 Timothy 1:8-10 

d.      Apart from Christ, the gospel sounded like a foolish fantasy

                                                              i.      1 Corinthians 1:18 

          2.      Now You are Made Alive

a.       Christ chose you

                                                              i.      2 Thessalonians 2:13 

b.      Christ bestowed His love upon you

                                                              i.      1 John 3:1 

c.       Christ went to the cross for you

                                                              i.      John 15:13 

                                                            ii.      John 13:1   

d.      Christ opened your eyes

                                                              i.      2 Corinthians 4:4-6 

        3.      This Miracle Was Made Possible by the Grace of God

a.       You were born again by this grace, there is a future inheritance reserved for you by this grace and it is all kept and preserved by this grace

                                                              i.      1 Peter 1:3-5
