Romans 8:18
The Glory Which Shall Be Revealed

Rom 8:18  For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

  1. Those that Chose to Follow Christ Will Suffer in this Present Life
    1. Suffering should not be surprising
                                                              i.      1 Peter 4:12-17 
    1. Suffering is temporary
                                                              i.      1 Peter 1:6-9 
    1. Suffering is not without purpose
                                                              i.      James 1:2-4 
    1. Suffering is outweighed by the future glory we will enjoy in heaven
                                                              i.      2 Corinthians 4:8-18   
                                                            ii.      What kind of light affliction was Paul speaking of in 2 Corinthians 4:17?
1.      2 Corinthians 11:23-28 
  1. Those that Chose to Follow Christ Will Receive Glory in Heaven
    1. The greatness of our future glory does not minimize the suffering we now endure, but rather outweighs it. In other words, our suffering appears small compared to the greatness of that glory.
                                                              i.      We are motivated by the same hope as Christ
1.      Hebrews 12:1-2 
                                                            ii.      We will see him as he is
1.      The glory of finally being with Christ for eternity will be all consuming.
a.       1 John 3:2 
                                                          iii.      We will enjoy the pleasures of heaven with Him
1.      Psalm 16:11 
                                                          iv.      We will no longer lack because of Him
1.      Revelation 7:15-17
