Preach the Word!

2Ti 4:1  I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 

2Ti 4:2  Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 

2Ti 4:3  For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 

2Ti 4:4  And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 

2Ti 4:5  But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. 

1. There is Nothing More Important for a Pastor to Do than Preach the Word!
1. We must preach the word because Jesus is coming back. – vs. 1*

                                                               i.      2 Thessalonians 1:5-10 

2. We must preach the word when the opportunity arises and when it does not. – vs. 2a*

                                                               i.      Colossians 1:28-29  

3. We must preach the word to reprove (Chasten or correct). – vs. 2b*

                                                               i.      Revelation 3:19 

4. We must preach the word to rebuke (Contend with those that oppose the truth). – vs. 2c*

5. We must preach the word to exhort (Encourage and minister to). – vs. 2d*

6. We must preach the word with patience. – vs. 2e*

8. We must preach the word because there are those that will not endure it and will leave our church. – vs. 3*

9. We must preach the word because there are those that reject the truth and go after superstition. 4*
