Beware of False Doctrine!

2Ti 2:14  Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers. 

2Ti 2:15  Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 

2Ti 2:16  But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. 

2Ti 2:17  And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; 

2Ti 2:18  Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some. 

2Ti 2:19  Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

1. Shun teaching that produces ungodliness –  vs. 16b*

2. Shun teaching that eats away at your Christian walk like gangrene – vs. 17a*
3. Shun people who knowingly teach bad doctrine. – vs. 17b*

                                                               i.      Do not shun fellow believers who have been affected by bad teaching. They need you love and prayers.

1.      Titus 3:9-11 

4. Shun teaching that rejects both the resurrection of Christ and our future resurrection. – vs. 18a*

                                                               i.      1 Corinthians 15:12-19 

5. Shun teaching that overthrows the faith of some. – vs. 18b*

                                                               i.      1 John 2:18-19 

4. The Church of God Will Conquer! – vs. 19*
1. The foundation of God is immovable and indestructible.

                                                               i.      Ephesians 2:19-22 

2. Those that are true believers cannot be lost.

                                                               i.      John 10:26-30 

3. Those that are true believers must take a stand against the injustice of false doctrine.

                                                               i.      Ephesians 5:6-11
