Psalm 18:28-31

Psalm 18:28-31
God Enlightens Our Darkness

Psa 18:28  For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness. 
Psa 18:29  For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall. 
Psa 18:30  As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him. 
Psa 18:31  For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God? 
  1. God Gives You Intellectual Strength – vs. 28*
    1. God give you a true awareness of himself, you and the world around you.
                                                               i.      1John 1:5-7 
    1. God continues to give you a growing understanding of the world around you.
                                                               i.      John 1:9 
                                                             ii.      John 8:12 
  1. God Gives You Physical Strength – vs. 29*
    1. God protects you from the harmful things that surround you.
                                                               i.      1 John 4:18-19 
                                                             ii.      Psalm 44:6-7 
    1. God gives you the strength to overcome difficult obstacles.
                                                               i.      2 Corinthians 12:9-10 
  1. God Gives Us His Word as a Fortress Against Evil – vs. 30*
    1. We can trust in God because His ways are good
                                                               i.      We know that His ways are good because of the proving of His Word.
1.      We know God’s word is pure because we see the record of those who have placed their trust in it and have seen the victory he gave them.

  1. How in the World Could God not be God Almighty? – vs. 31*
    1. When presented with such overwhelming evidence we cannot but fall at the feet of our Creator to worship.
