Abide in Christ

1Jn 2:28  And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. 

1Jn 2:29  If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him. 

1. You Must Abide in Christ – vs. 28a*
1. Rest in the incredible power of His mercy which He gives to you

                                                               i.      1 Peter 1:2-5 

2. Trust in Christ’s incredible power to change you into His Image and do good works through you.

                                                               i.      Titus 2:13-14 

2. If You Are In Christ Then There is No Need to Fear the Judgment – vs. 28b*
1. Those that are in Christ need not fear because He will preserve their faith to the end.

                                                             ii.      Ephesians 1:4-14 

3. All Righteousness in Contained in Christ – vs. 29a*
1. There is no hope for righteousness in mankind. All men are condemned in their own black, sin nature. It is only in Christ that we can ever hope to be changed.
